MENTAL RETARDATION DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES SERVICES

Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF)

This program serves adults 21 and over with a primary diagnosis of mental retardation. It is expected that the participants in this program will require intensive care and habilitational intervention in those areas lacking basic self-help abilities. The program provides a range of services to each client as specified in an individual program plan with long and short range goals being established. It is staffed 24 hours daily, with all residents required to attend day programs five days weekly. This program addresses those individuals who require long term care.

The program in funded through Medicaid. Program is licensed by Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities.

Individualized Residential Alternative (IRA)

Are directed toward acquiring, retaining and improving self-help, socialization and adaptive skills necessary to reside successfully in home and community based settings. Habilitation services that are specified in the individual service plans are designed to achieve goals of maximum independence, integration into the community and productivity for the recipient.

The program funded by Medicaid and licensed by Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities.

Geriatric IRA

The Geriatric IRA specifically addresses those individuals who are of an advanced age and require specialized 24 hours rehabilitative program. This IRA program serves those consumers as a result of the age related needs would be precluded from attending a regularly scheduled day program and be at an advanced age that would require a residence and staffing that would address their handicapping condition.
